(a.k.a Michael du Preez) started his DJ Journey in 2009 after being inspired by an old friend, Gareth Tomaz, and by Kyau & Albert at the Ministry of Sound in London back in 2008. He started his DJjourney on the airwaves by doing guest mixes on the Internationally acclaimed web radio station, Digitally Imported.

After receiving international recognition from the listeners of DI.FM, he then got supported byInternational DJ and Producer Andy Duguid on his weekly podcast, After Dark Radio.

If you’ve been to one of the live set’s he’s played at over the last 10 years, then you’ll know that hissets are all about the journey, the energy, and the emotion. He’s had the opportunity of DJing at the biggestclubs around South Africa such as Truth and ESP.

Michael’s diverse sound of genres include his most loved and treasured genre of Trance music, the melodic and journey driven sound of Progressive House and Liquid Drum ‘n Bass, and the harder yet Party driven sounds of EuroDance, Hands-Up, and Happy Hardcore.

His ever increasing knowledge in DJing can be owed to the likes of Armada DJ Ross Palmer, who has DJ experience in playing alongside the likes of Armin van Buuren and David Guetta on the International stage, and has assisted Michael in taking his DJing skills to the next level.

Michael’s latest endeavor “Trance Empyrean” serves as a platform to showcase up and coming talent in the Trance scene by displaying the true meaning of Trance music.

This is achieved through the 3-hour monthlyradio show on “Digitally Imported Trance” where up and coming talent can display their sound via a 30-minute guest mix or via their productions.

As well as showcasing Trance music on the Radio show, he has started to expand the platform via the Trance Empyrean events where the true sound of Trance can be showcased to the Mother city, Cape Town.
