Dear Mutha fam,
We call on our army to pull together and support one of our super fans!
*****We challenge all companies to match or better our donation of R500 AND share Tanya’s story*****
Please read her story and support her in either a monetary donation or sharing her story, please see links below:
My name is Tanya Da Silva Ferreira, a #2ndtimecancerfighter. (Please read Tanya’s journey at the bottom of this page).
I am currently trying to raise funds to extend my life to create more memories with my family to last a lifetime by doing targeted treatment. It was hard for me to post these images but you can see in the images how the targeted treatment is working but is unavailable from local hospitals, I have had many people question my decisions to seek private treatment but this is unfortunately my only option.
I hereby would like to challenge you or your company to be one of 1000 persons/companies to donate R500 (or less or more) towards my medical costs. I will in return mention your company name on my Breast Cancer Awareness Page, NPO 243-036, and tag your company in the post, as well as on my personal page, newspaper articles and radio interviews which I will be doing whilst on treatment, prior to my operation which will take place in October 2021.
Two Options: paid into the Back-a-Buddy account via the link below OR into my medical savings account which is as follows:
Mrs. TK Da Silva Ferreira, Discovery Bank, Account Number: 10804362787, Branch Code: 679000, Swift Code: DISCZAJJ
Reference: your/your company name.
Payment into my bank account ensures that I receive the full amount and wouldn’t have to pay an admin fee to Back-A-Buddy. The donations paid via the bank account will be loaded manually in order for us to keep track of reaching our goal amount.
I have also attached my histology report as proof of my cancer diagnosis.
If you have any queries, you are welcome to contact me to discuss further on 0628622102.
Thank you for reading my story and if you cannot donate, if you could please share, I hope that at least it has created awareness to look after your body and go for check ups, to LIVE life, LAUGH often and LOVE beyond words.
Please don’t criticize me, I am just a wife and a mom desperate to live and make memories with my family who I love so dearly…

“I am 45 years old. I was diagnosed with aggressive, invasive, oestrogen-receptor-positive, pre-menopausal metastatic ductal carcinoma, HER-2+ breast cancer on Monday, 27 August 2012, at the age of 36. My treatment plan consisted of six months of chemotherapy, surgery, 28 sessions of radiation and a full hysterectomy due to changing cells.

I am currently on disability for chemo brain since 2012 and my husband is unemployed due to his company closing their doors. He runs a small home based company whilst looking for more opportunities within his field.

I have since been diagnosed with metastatic carcinoma cancer on the 24th November 2020, for the second time, and need urgent medical attention. I have started my treatment which at this stage consists of two tablets:  1.  Laradex, which is one tablet every day and 2.  Kryxana (chemo tablet) which is three tablets once per day. The current treatment, doctors checkups, blood tests and ECG’s will cost around R25000,00 per month.  With possible radiation and definite surgery scheduled this year.

Private consultations, CT guided biopsies and the needing to undergo further treatment and surgery, isn’t something we can fund right now. Please help me raise the funds I need to pay my current outstanding medical bills and in order for me to go for my scans, biopsy, tests and further treatments, by making a small donation or share my story through your social media platforms, so I may again live a quality life, finding my “new” normal psychologically and physically. Your contribution/donations will assist me to finance my treatment and give me extra time with my family.

The only barrier to my extended time is money. It has been a hard year for many but if you can contribute, even a small amount, it will make a huge difference, it all ads up.

I have an amazing husband, and two beautiful children, a 22 year old daughter and a 12 year old son.  They are extremely important to me and hold a very special place in my heart.  I unfortunately lost my mom to cancer on the 28th August 2020.  My children and my husband are my strength and the reason for me fighting this battle. Please help me to extend my life and spend more time with them. Help us to get through this.  Allow me to expand my #wingsofhope. God Bless.”
