Bio – Justin Vee
Justin Vee is a revered South African DJ, producer, songwriter, and studio engineer whose career spans over three decades. His entry into the world of house music began in the mid‑1990s, inspired by tracks like Josh Wink’s “A Higher State of Consciousness” and Paula Abdul’s dub version of “My Love Is For Real.” Guided by mentors Paul Almeida, Mario Viegas and DJ Spiro, Justin made his professional debut in 1996 at Johannesburg’s iconic ESP club, quickly securing residencies at NEXUS, Slippery ‘n’ Wet, Exodus, Gates, and The Workshop.

Alongside his DJ work, Justin has an extensive production and engineering portfolio. He spent years at BMG (later Sony BMG / Sony Music), recording and producing celebrated South African artists like Just Jinjer, Watershed, Louise Carver, Vusi Mahlasela, TKZee, and many more.

His breakthrough hit “Get Together” (with Adrian Shannon of Grannysmith) dominated South African radio, charting in the Top 10 nationally and appearing on best-selling compilations such as The Hits 15 and Club Anthems 2006

Justin’s signature sound blends funk-infused grooves, hypnotic basslines, and high-energy house rhythms, drawing from multiple subgenres. With seven Top 40 singles and numerous DJ mix albums, including several instalments of the House Anthems franchise, he remains a master at keeping dance floors engaged, adept at spotting the next big track before anyone else. With his infectious charisma and technical precision, Justin Vee continues to be one of South Africa’s most sought-after DJ’s, his influence and energy still rising.

ME’shalle has always lived for house music. From the very beginning, she could be found front and center on the dancefloor, losing herself in the bass of house music. Her deep connection to the music started early, and in 1995 she first experimented with vinyl, igniting a passion for mixing. Though life took her down a different path, the love for house music never left her soul.

In 2023, fate brought her full circle when she met South African DJ legend Justin Vee, who became her mentor and teacher. With his guidance, she reignited her dream of becoming a DJ and began to pursue it with focused determination. Justin’s experience and belief in her gave her the confidence to step behind the decks instead of in front of them. ME’shalle is also honoured to be part of the Pete Tong DJ Academy, where she continues to refine her technique and develop her unique sound.

Now, ME’shalle is honing her craft and fully dedicated to the art of DJing, blending her intuitive love for music with refined technical skill. Her sets echo her journey, layered with deep minimal sounds, hypnotic beeps, subtle bops, and shimmering tings all infused with raw energy and undeniable passion.
