Searches for ‘Berlin rave fashion’ have risen by 250%

A new annual report by moodboard platform Pinterest predicts that “rave culture and fashion” could see a spike in trend this year.

The report, which also predicted a trending rise in superfoods, origami, the colour orange, and puppy pool parties, expects that “rave fashion” could be on the up, too.

According to Pinterest Predicts, “rave culture will reign in the year ahead”, with surges in searches for “house music outfits”, up by 185%, and “Berlin rave fashion”, up by an enormous 250%.

“As Gen Z and Millenials recover from over two years in lockdown, they’ll take over nightclubs, warehouses and house parties all over the globe,” Pinterest predicts. “Techno style, rave fashion and house music outfits are all trending up.”

Also in the report, a rise in searches for “rave party aesthetic” went up by 35%, while “techno style” went up by 60%, and “music mixer” up by 115%.

As a platform, Pinterest reportedly pulls in 445 million users worldwide, and claims to have predicted 80% of its previous four annual Pinterest Predictions correctly.

“Gen Z and Millennials are reigniting their love for rave culture and it’s signature aesthetic. People want to find inclusive, freeing spaces where they can let loose and dress however they like,” they claim.

Rave fashion is just one of 27 reported trends for this year argued by Pinterest, amongst others such as “primal workouts”, “romcom core”, and of course, “walk-in showers”.

Pinterest claims that the science behind its trend predictions comes from “months of expert analysis”. “Trends on Pinterest sustain monthly growth for 21% longer than trends elsewhere on the internet.”
